It fascinates me to see that regardless of how big or small a company is or where it is located in the world, the same types of organizational problems and experiences seem to occur. Many of my colleagues - peer accountants and leaders in the finance & accounting space - seem to be working harder than ever and never seemed to have enough time in the day to do it all. As a high-achieving perfectionist, I was feeling the same effects and succumbed to corporate burnout. After a soul-searching sabbatical, I started Mirai Consulting (formerly, D-Squared Consulting*) to help companies and their leaders break the vicious cycle of corporate "busy-ness" and find efficiencies to improve their working lives and the working lives of their employees.
As clients come to me to help them grow or "fix" their businesses, the discussion always leads me to the review of business processes and systems because I see these as the main foundation blocks that drive clarity, efficiency, and scalability.
I use the "roll-up my sleeves" and "Corporate Therapy" approaches to help clients get down to the root cause of their problems and bring my unique experiences and perspectives to custom-build solutions. I help clients create their unique corporate playbook with the action plans to Grow Beyond the Numbers.

As a Business Intelligence Consultant specializing in Cognos and the Microsoft BI Stack, I have over 10 years of experience focused in report and dashboard creation. I find with Business Intelligence work, it is an interesting blend of mixing technology with business requirements using analysis and development skills so there is never a dull moment.
Industries I have worked in include: utilities, financial services, and professional services. I am currently embarking on the journey to entrepreneurship with my wife as we build our team at Mirai Consulting.
I originally graduated in Electrical Engineering and moved out to Ottawa in '99. After a number of tumultuous years through the telecom boom and bust, I moved to Vancouver for a hardware engineering opportunity in 2004. After that stint and seeing how beautiful Vancouver is, I decided to remain here even though the jobs were getting scarce. I made a tough choice to embark on a new career in IT seeing how vibrant the software scene was here. In 2006, after spending a year and a half at BCIT, I graduated with a Diploma in Computer Systems Technology and have been loving what I do ever since.
